• Experience – The amount of experience of any potential mold inspector should be considered. How long have they been in business? Do they have experience working with similar issues as yours? The more experience a mold inspector has, the better.
• Proper Tools – There are specific tools that a qualified mold inspector should have. Some of these tools include an infrared camera, hygrometer, air quality pump, and moisture meter. It does not hurt to ask the mold remediator if they have all of these items. If they do not, you may want to consider another company.
• Professionalism – How a mold inspector and their company treat you is very important to take into consideration. Do they professionally answer your questions, respond to your calls and/or emails in a timely manner, and treat you with respect? If they do, then they will likely be a good option for a mold inspector.
