What We Look at During a Mold Inspection

• Walls and Wall Cavities – When our experts arrive to begin your mold inspection, we’ll start by examining the walls. Mold is most common in areas with a lot of moisture, such as the kitchen or bathroom, so we’ll pay especially close attention to these spaces. In addition, we’ll also check for mold in any wall cavities, as mold can grow in these dark areas for some time.
• Windows – During your mold inspection, our team will also carefully examine your windows and window frames for signs of an infestation. The windows are one of the main points where mold spores can enter your building, and they will often show signs of mold before other areas.
• Fireplaces and Chimneys – Mold spores can also enter your building through the chimney and fireplace (assuming you have them, of course). Our team will inspect these areas for mold as part of our process, and we’ll check the surrounding areas as well.
• Ducts and Vents – Another place where mold can take root is in or around your air ducts and vents, so our team will also look at these systems during your inspection.
• Attic and Crawlspace – Finally, our team will inspect areas such as the attic and crawlspace for signs of mold. Because these areas are not used on a daily basis, it’s easy for mold to go unnoticed for long periods of time. Our team will examine them thoroughly and make sure no mold can take root here or spread to other areas of your building.
